HOW DOES IT WORK?
Step 1: Sign up for the 2026 Back to Base challenge
Step 2: Join the Versus Strava Running Club
Step 3: Kick off the challenge on 1 January 2026
Step 4: Run a total of 50km by midnight, 10 January 2026
Step 5: Log all your activities on Strava and include “Versus Back to Base” in each activity title
Step 6: Submit your results between 11–14 January. You’ll receive an email with the submission link.
Step 7: We’ll review and verify all submissions from 15–25 January
Step 8: Check your inbox on 26 January for your unique code to shop the Back to Base socks for free (valid until 31 January, 9am)

What is the Versus Back to Base challenge?
The Versus Back to Base Challenge is a 10-day fitness challenge where participants are encouraged to run 50km. The challenge runs from January 1, 2026, to midnight on January 10, 2026.
How can I participate?
To participate, sign up, join the Versus Strava Running Club, and log your activities on Strava.
Make sure your account is set as public and include "2026 Versus Back to Base Day 1-10" in your Strava activity titles for easy tracking.
How do I track & submit my activities?
All you need to do is to sync your activities to Strava and inculde "Versus Back to Base" in your activity title.
Your activities will automatically be added to the club activites if you had joined the club.
We will use this to track your progress.

Can my Strava account or activities be private?
Unfortunately not, all accounts and activities need to be public in order for us to track your progress.
Must the activity title include "Versus Back to Base"?
Yes, this helps us in the process of checking how much distance you have covered and if you've successfully completed the challenge.
Can I break up the distance into multiple activities?
Absolutely! You can break up the distance as you see fit over the 10-day challenge.
What activities count for the challenge?
Valid activities include walking, running, and trail running. Treadmill allowed.
What do I get if I successfully complete the challenge?
Successful participants earn a free pair of Limited Edition Versus Back to Base Socks.
Please note, participants only need to cover the shipping cost.

How will my completion be verified?
From January 15 to 25, we will audit all activities. We will be using our Strava Running Club to get all the data.
Successful participants will receive a code on 26 January at 9am to redeem their free socks on our website. This code will be valid until 31 January 9am. This offer is available to South African and international participants.
Can I buy the socks online and pick them up at a Versus Socks store or stockist?
No, the socks can only be redeemed online using the provided code and will be shipped to your specified address. Please note, participants only need to cover the shipping cost.
Free shipping applies to orders over £45 during Back to Base. Add a few pairs to your basket to qualify.
Can I add my free pair and a friends free pair to my order?
Unfortunately not. It is limited to one free pair per person, per order. Multiple free pairs cannot be added or shipped within a single order.
